What we do

The work most shops send away

We're a performance and deep-mechanical shop, not an oil-change bay. If it involves the inside of an engine, a transmission, or making real power safely, it's what we do all day.

01

Custom Exhaust & Fabrication

Headers, cat-backs, downpipes, turbo manifolds and one-off brackets — designed, cut and welded at Roland Exhaust & Machining, our own shop on the Apex campus. Stainless, mild or titanium, built to fit your car, not a catalog.

02

European Repair

BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Porsche and VW — the diagnostics, timing, cooling and drivetrain work the dealer quotes a fortune for, done by people who actually like these cars.

03

Performance Builds

LS swaps, engine building, cam and timing work, supercharger and turbo installs with the fuel, cooling and tune to make the power live.

04

Dynojet Tuning

HP Tuners calibration on our in-house AWD Dynojet. Street, E85, boosted and built motors, with before/after numbers you keep.

05

Transmissions & Drivetrain

Rebuilds, R&R, clutches and upgrades built to hold the power you're making, automatic or manual.

06

Diagnostics & EFI

Hard-to-find drivability problems, carb-to-EFI conversions, wiring and sensor work on cars other shops gave up on.

The dyno

Numbers, not guesses

Our all-wheel-drive Dynojet means we tune your car under load, the way you actually drive it — and you leave with a printout, a datalog, and a tune that holds up in August in Alabama.

  • Baseline pull before any work, so you can see the gain
  • Wideband AFR logged through the whole rev range
  • Safe timing and fueling targets — we'd rather make 20 less than hurt a motor
  • Dyno-day sessions for clubs and groups by appointment

Engine building

Built in-house, blueprinted, documented

Short blocks, long blocks and full builds — forged rotating assemblies, cam and valvetrain work, head work, and the machine work to back it up through Roland Exhaust & Machining on the same campus. Every clearance is measured and written down, so you get a build sheet with the engine, not a shrug.

  • Forged pistons and rods, bearings and ring gaps checked by hand, not by catalog
  • Cam, spring and valvetrain packages matched to the tune and the fuel
  • Boosted, E85 and swap builds — LS, Coyote, Honda, BMW, Audi, Porsche
  • Broken in and tuned on our own AWD Dynojet before it goes home

About the shop

Owner-run. Huntsville-built.

Apex Autosports is a performance shop on 5th Street in Huntsville, owned and run by Aseem Saxena and Sam Abusaleem as part of The Timely Group. We built it for the cars most shops turn away — the European car with a dealer quote you can't stomach, the swap nobody wants to finish, the exhaust that has to be made rather than bought.

The rules are simple. Every job gets a written estimate before a wrench is turned. You get updates while the car is here, and you get proof — dyno sheets, photos, the notes — when you pick it up. And when something goes wrong at 9pm on a Saturday, the phone gets answered.

Roland Exhaust & Machining

Most performance shops send exhaust and machine work down the road and wait. We own the shop that does it. Roland Exhaust & Machining sits on the Apex campus at 3007A 10th Avenue, so custom exhaust, fabrication and machine work happen on the same job ticket, on the same timeline, with one person accountable for the result.

  • Custom exhaust systems, headers and downpipes, mandrel-bent and TIG-welded
  • One-off brackets, mounts and fabrication for swaps and race cars
  • Machine work in support of engine builds — no waiting on an outside shop

How it works

No surprises, ever

1

Tell us the car and the goal

Call, or send the form below. A year, make, model and what you want it to do is plenty to start.

2

Get a written estimate

Parts and labor itemized, in writing, before anything is touched. Nothing gets done that you didn't approve.

3

We do the work

Updates as it moves through the bay. If something changes, you hear about it before the bill does.

4

Pick up with proof

Dyno sheets, photos and the notes from your job go home with you.

Request an estimate

Tell us what you're building

We reply the same business day. Prefer to talk? Call 256-975-0012 — you'll get the shop, not a call center.
